A network member collects goods from their local catchment area and transports them to their nearest Palletways hub. Here the freight is processed using our innovative IT solutions.
The consignment is then sorted according the destination postcode of the goods. If it’s an international order, it’s then sent to one of our European hubs.*

We then assign the consignment to the network member who covers the delivery address, who then transports the freight to the final destination.

Information and Technology
Digital Information Hub
An industry first which provides extensive operational and customer data in real time to improve processes, communication, traffic planning and vehicle utilisation. It covers everything from: live vehicle status information, which enables constant checks to be made on the location and delivery of all consignments and the proactive management of consignments at risk of any delivery issues; to delivery profiling, visualised on a heat map to show where deliveries are currently been made and opportunities for customers to serve new markets nearby.
Pallet Track and Trace
Our online pallet track & trace system is the most advanced within the sector, enabling the current status every pallet in the UK and Europe, to be identified without the need for a phone call. See on a map the exact location of any consignment, at anytime – in real-time. See all delivery times and estimated times of arrival. Palletways is the only UK network to offer this transparent, web-based, real time solution to both its Network Members and their end customers.

Palletways Archway Scanning System
Palletways Archway Scanning System (P.A.S.S.) uses a network of scanners and HD cameras to scan and photograph every vehicle and each individual pallet through every pallet sortation centre at the national hub in Lichfield. P.A.S.S. is linked to the vehicle management system and provides full visibility of all vehicles and the location and physical condition of each individual pallet.
P.A.S.S. is fully integrated with the Digital Information Hub providing instant visual access to information through any internet enabled device. The physical system comprises of eight banks of two vehicle scanners, 16 barcode scanners and two HD cameras. Each bank is positioned at the entrance and exit of each transit building, covering both sides of every vehicle. P.A.S.S. stores information and images (c.10Gb per day) and provides analysis and interrogation capability to all stakeholders.
